§ 2 Studies & Notes

An evolving collection of material experiments, observations and questions. Some begin with a texture, a place or a way of making; others grow into broader inquiries about the world around us. Together, they show how we use art and design to investigate ideas, and how those ideas begin to take form.

§ About the Collective

Every project begins with a deep analysis of the site, history, and the specific rituals of the inhabitants. We move away from the decorative, seeking instead the essential. By reducing the visual language to its core components, we allow the tactile qualities of timber, stone, and plaster to define the atmosphere. The result is an environment that feels both contemporary and timeless—a silent backdrop for the complexities of modern life.

Our studio is a collaborative landscape where architects, designers, and artisans work in unison. We treat each drawing as a hypothesis and each construction as a realization of that theory. From large-scale architectural volumes to the finite details of a custom timber screen, our commitment to precision remains absolute. We are not just designing spaces; we are constructing a philosophy of living.

Veera & Anu

Veera and Anu founded the studio in 2026 after a decade of independent architectural practice in Helsinki. Their shared vision for a theoretical interior studio grew from an obsession with the International Style and the pursuit of structural minimalism within residential contexts.

Their background in Finnish Modernism influences every project, blending the functional requirements of Northern living with a global editorial aesthetic. Veera leads the structural and spatial planning, while Anu focuses on material research and the tactical execution of custom interior elements and artisan collaborations.

The duo’s work has been recognized for its restraint and clarity. They contribute regularly to architectural discourse through European lecture series and studio-led publications. For Veera and Anu, design is an intellectual exercise—a constant negotiation between the weight of history and the lightness of modern structure.
